AGRICULTURE AND FOOD (DELEGATION OF MINISTERIAL FUNCTIONS) ORDER, 1992.

THE GOVERNMENT, on the request of the Minister for Agriculture and Food and in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2 of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1977 (No. 28 of 1977), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Agriculture and Food (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1992.

2. All the powers and duties of the Minister for Agriculture and Food conferred—

( a ) by or under the Acts specified in the First Schedule to this Order,

( b ) under the regulations and orders specified in the Second Schedule to this Order,

( c ) by section 221 of the Public Health (Ireland) Act, 1878, in so far as it relates to the confirmation of bye-laws made under—

(i) section 128 of the Towns Improvement Clauses Act, 1847,

(ii) the Public Health (Ireland) Act, 1911, or

(iii) section 4 of the Slaughter of Animals Act, 1935 (No. 45 of 1935),

( d ) by or under the Local Government Acts, 1925 to 1991, and the Local Authorities (Officers and Employees) Acts, 1926 to 1983, in relation to the office or to the holder of the office of veterinary inspector under a local authority, and

( e ) by every order and regulation continued in force by section 10 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 ,

are hereby delegated to John Browne, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture and Food.
