PATENTS (AMENDMENT) ACT 2006 (CERTAIN PROVISIONS) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER 2007

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 20th November, 2007.

I, MICHAEL AHERN, Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 51(2) of the Patents (Amendment) Act 2006 (No. 31 of 2006) and the Enterprise, Trade and Employment (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) (No. 4) Order 2007 ( S.I. No. 562 of 2007 ) hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Patents (Amendment) Act 2006 (Certain Provisions) (Commencement) Order 2007.

2. The 13th day of December 2007 is appointed as the day on which the provisions of the Patents (Amendment) Act 2006 (No. 31 of 2006) specified in the Schedule come into operation.

This Order appoints 13 December 2007 as the date on which specified provisions of the Patents (Amendment) Act 2006 , arising from the revision of the European Patent Convention, come into operation. The revised Convention will enter into force on 13 December 2007.
