IRISH AVIATION AUTHORITY ACT, 1993 (AMENDMENT OF SCHEDULE) ORDER, 1995.

I, EMMET STAGG, Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Energy and Communications, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 58 (2) of the Irish Aviation Authority Act, 1993 (No. 29 of 1993) and by the Transport, Energy and Communications (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1995 ( S.I. No. 181 of 1995 ), hereby orders as follows.

1. This Order may be cited as the Irish Aviation Act, 1993, (Amendment of Schedule) Order, 1995.

2. The Schedule to the Irish Aviation Authority Act, 1993 , is hereby amended by the insertion of the following entry:

"Annexe 12 Search and Rescue".

3. Nothing in this Order shall be construed as conferring powers on the Irish Aviation Authority other than powers in relation to Rescue Co-ordination Centres and Rescue Co-ordination Sub-Centres.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

1. This Order, in conjunction with the Annexe 12 (Standards and Recommended Practices Search and Rescue) (Designation of Authorities) Order, 1995 ( S.I. No. 172 of 1995 ), provides that the Minister for Transport, Energy and (Designation of Authorities) Order, 1995 ( S.I. No. 172 of 1995 ), provides that the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications shall be the authority by which the powers exercisable under Annexe 12 of the Chicago Convention, other than the powers concerning Rescue Co-ordination Centres and Sub-Centres, are to be exercised in the State; and the Irish Aviation Authority (by virtue of the inclusion of the said Annexe 12 in the Schedule to the Irish Aviation Authority Act 1993 ), shall be the authority by which any of the powers exercisable under Annexe 12, in relation to the Rescue Co-ordination Centres and Sub-Centres are to be exercised in the State.
