POULTRY, POULTRY CARCASES, POULTRY EGGS AND POULTRY PRODUCTS (RESTRICTION ON IMPORTATION) ORDER, 1971 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1995.

I, IVAN YATES, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 30 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), as adapted by the Agriculture and Food (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1993 ( S.I. No. 11 of 1993 ), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Poultry, Poultry Carcases, Poultry Eggs and Poultry Products (Restriction on Importation) Order, 1971 (Amendment) Order, 1995.

(2) The Poultry, Poultry Carcases, Poultry Eggs and Poultry Products (Restriction on Importation) Order, 1971 and this Order may be cited together as the Poultry, Poultry Carcases, Poultry Eggs and Poultry Products (Restriction on Importation) Orders, 1971 and 1995.

2. The Poultry, Poultry Carcases, Poultry Eggs and Poultry Products (Restriction on Importation) Order, 1971 ( S.I. No. 139 of 1971 ) is hereby amended by the substitution in Article 2 for the definition of "poultry" of the following:

" "poultry" means birds of a kind specified in Part II of the First Schedule to the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), as amended by the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Order, 1968 ( S.I. No. 231 of 1968 ), the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Order, 1971 ( S.I. No. 137 of 1971 ), and the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Order, 1995 ( S.I. No. 46 of 1995 );".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order extends the definition of "poultry" in the Poultry, Poultry Carcases, Poultry Eggs and Poultry Products (Restriction on Importation) Order, 1971 ( S.I. No. 139 of 1971 ) to include all birds.
