DISEASES OF ANIMALS ACT, 1966 (FIRST SCHEDULE) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1968.

I, NEIL T. BLANEY, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 11 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Order, 1968.

2. For the purpose of extending the application of sections 13 , 30 , 42 , 46 and 51 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 , and all other sections (including sections relating to offences and legal proceedings) containing provisions relative to or consequent on those sections, the First Schedule to that Act is hereby amended by the insertion at the end of Part II thereof of the following :

" 14. Owls.

15. Plover.

16. Quail.

17. Birds of the order Falconiformes, including any of the birds commonly called falcons, eagles, hawks, buzzards, harriers, ospreys, kestrels, kites and vultures."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order extends the definition of "poultry" in the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966) to include owls, plover, quail and birds of the order Falconiformes, including falcons, eagles, hawks, buzzards, harriers, ospreys, kestrels, kites and vultures.
