CONTROL OF BULLS FOR BREEDING (PERMITS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2004.

I, MARY COUGHLAN, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Sections 3 and 11 of the Control of Bulls for Breeding Act, 1985 (No. 13 of 1985), as adapted by the Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 306 of 2002 ), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Control of Bulls for Breeding (Permits) (Amendment) Regulations 2004.

2. The Control of Bulls for Breeding (Permits) (Amendment) Regulations 1986 ( S.I. No. 333 of 1986 ) are hereby amended by the substitution for Regulation 7 (inserted by the Control of Bulls for Breeding (Permits) (Amendment) Regulations 2000 ( S.I. No. 284 of 2000 ) of the following Regulation:

“7. (1) A permit granted pursuant to Regulation 4(c) of these Regulations shall, subject to these Regulations, cease to have effect on the 31st day of October, 2006.

(2) A permit granted pursuant to Regulation 4(c) that was in force immediately before the 31st day of October, 2002 shall continue in force until 31st day of October, 2006.”

These Regulations are made under the Control of Bulls for Breeding Act, 1985 to provide for the continuation of the system of granting permits to persons to keep unregistered bulls for breeding purposes and to extend permits already issued under previous Regulations until 31 October 2006.
