S.I. No. 284/2000 - Control of Bulls For Breeding (Permits) (Amendment) Regulations, 2000.


I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 11 of the Control of Bulls for Breeding Act, 1985 (No. 13 of 1985), as adapted by the Agriculture and Food (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1999 ( S.I. No. 307 of 1999 ), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Control of Bulls for Breeding (Permits) (Amendment) Regulations, 2000.

2. The Control of Bulls for Breeding (Permits) Regulations, 1986 ( S.I. No. 333 of 1986 ) are hereby amended by the substitution for Regulation 7 (inserted by the Control of Bulls for Breeding (Permits) (Amendment) Regulations, 1998 ( S.I. No. 425 of 1998 )) of the following Regulation:

“7. (1) A permit granted pursuant to Regulation 4(c) of these Regulations shall, subject to these Regulations, cease to have effect on the 31st day of October, 2002.

(2) A permit granted pursuant to the said Regulation 4(c) that was in force immediately before the 31st day of October, 2000 shall, continue in force until the 31st day of October, 2002.”

These Regulations are made under the Control of Bulls for Breeding Act, 1985 to provide for the continuation of the system of granting permits to persons to keep unregistered bulls for breeding purposes and to extend permits already issued under previous Regulations until 31 October, 2002.
