S.I. No. 307/1999 - Agriculture and Food (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1999.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Agriculture and Food (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1999.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 27th day of September, 1999.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language, an Roinn Talmhaíochta agus Bia and, in the English language, the Department of Agriculture and Food, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Talmhaíochta, Bia agus Forbartha Tuaithe and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of the Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Talmhaíochta agus Bia and, in the English language, the Minister for Agriculture and Food, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Talmhaíochta, Bia agus Forbartha Tuaithe and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development.

4. In any enactment-

(a) references to the Department of Agriculture and Food shall be construed as references to the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development;

(b) references to the Minister for Agriculture and Food shall be construed as references to the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development.

This Order changes the name of the Department of Agriculture and Food to that of the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development and the title of the Minister for Agriculture and Food to the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development.
