S.I. No. 209/2001 - Foot-And Mouth-Disease (Restriction of Import of Horses and Greyhounds) (No. 2) (Second Amendment) Order, 2001


I, Joe, Walsh, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 30 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966) (as adapted by the Agriculture and Food (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1999 ( S.I. No. 307 of 1999 ) hereby, for the prevention of spreading of foot-and-mouth disease, order as follows:-

1.       This Order may be cited as the Foot-and Mouth-Disease (Restriction of Import of Horses and Greyhounds) (No.2) (Second Amendment) Order, 2001.

2.(I)   The Foot-and Mouth-Disease (Restriction of Import of Horses and Greyhounds) (No. 2) Order, 2001 ( S.I. No. 85 of 2001 ) is amended by the deletion, in Article 2(1), of “horse or”.

(2)   The Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (Prohibition in Respect of certain Imported Horses, Greyhounds, Machinery, Vehicles and Equipment) Order, 2001 ( S.I. No. 81 of 2001 ) is amended by the deletion in Article 2(b), of “horse or”.
