CONTROL OF FISHING FOR SALMON (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1997.

I, EAMON GILMORE, Minister of State at the Department of the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 29 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1962 (No. 31 of 1962), as amended by section II (5) of the Fisheries Act, 1980 (No. 1 of 1980), and the Fisheries (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 30 of 1977 ) (as adapted by the Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 82 of 1987 ) ), and the Marine (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1997 ( S.I. No. 68 of 1997 ), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Control of Fishing for Salmon (Amendment) Order, 1997.

(2) The Control of Fishing for Salmon Order, 1980 ( S.I. No. 360 of 1980 ), the Control of Fishing for Salmon by Drift Net (Kerry Fishery District) Order, 1982 ( S.I. No. 367 of 1982 ), the Control of Fishing for Salmon (Amendment) Order, 1996 and this Order may be cited together as the Control of Fishing for Salmon Orders, 1980 to 1997.

2. The Control of Fishing for Salmon (Amendment) Order, 1996 is hereby amended by the substitution for the First Schedule of the following Schedule:

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order revises the prescribed maximum numbers of commercial salmon licences which may be issued by Regional Fisheries Boards under the Control of Fishing for Salmon (Amendment) Order, 1996.
