AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS (RESTRICTION OF EXPORT) ORDER, 1956 (AMENDMENT) (No. 3) ORDER, 1957.

I, SEÁN F. LEMASS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by virtue of Section 2 of the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947), and the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (Transfer of Powers) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 52 of 1956 ), hereby order as follows :

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1956 (Amendment) (No. 3) Order, 1957.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 16th day of July, 1957.

2. The Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 56 of 1956 ), as amended by the Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1956 (Amendment) Order, 1957 ( S.I. No. 2 of 1957 ), and the Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1956, (Amendment) (No. 2) Order, 1957 ( S.I. No. 7 of 1957 ), is hereby amended by—

(a) the deletion of paragraph 3 and the substitution therefor of the following paragraph :

" 3. This Order shall not apply to the exportation by parcel post of sugar or molasses.", and

(b) the deletion in Part I of the Schedule thereto of " Sugar syrups and all commodities (excluding condensed milk) made from sugar or to which sugar has been added in the course of preparation." and the deletion in the said Part I of " Sweetening matter other than sugar " and the substitution therefor of " sugar or other sweetening matter ".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to remove the control exercised by the Minister for Industry and Commerce on the export of sugar syrups and goods containing sugar.
