BOVINE DISEASES (LEVIES) REGULATIONS, 1996. | ||
I, IVAN YATES, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 (2) and 19 (1) of the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Act, 1979 (No. 26 of 1979), as amended by the Bovine Diseases Levies (Amendment) Act, 1996 (No. 5 of 1996) and as adapted by the Agriculture and Food (Alteration of Name of Department and Title Minister) Order, 1993 ( S.I. No. 11 of 1993 ), hereby make the following Regulations: 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Regulations, 1996. | ||
(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1996. 2. The amount of levy payable under section 2 of the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Act, 1979 (No. 26 of 1979), shall— | ||
( a ) as regards milk, be 0.5 pence per gallon, and | ||
( b ) as regards animals slaughtered or exported live, be £2.50 per animal. 3. The Bovine Diseases (Levies) Regulations, 1993 ( S.I. No. 115 of 1993 ), are hereby revoked. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. | ||
These Regulations which came into effect on the 1st of April, 1996 prescribe new rates of disease levy on milk for processing and on bovine animals slaughtered or exported live. |
