BOVINE DISEASES (LEVIES) REGULATIONS, 1993.

I, JOE WALSH, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 (2) and 19 (1) of the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Act, 1979 (No. 26 of 1979), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Regulations, 1993.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of May, 1993.

2. The amount of levy payable under section 2 of the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Act, 1979 (No. 26 of 1979), shall—

( a ) as regards milk, be 1.3 penny per gallon,

( b ) as regards animals slaughtered or exported live, be £7.30 per animal.

3. The Bovine Diseases (Levies) Regulations, 1990 ( S.I. No. 177 of 1990 ), are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations which came into effect on the 1st of May, 1993 prescribe new rates of disease levy on milk for processing and on bovine animals slaughtered or exported live.
