Procedure, etc., of boards of assistance.

13.—(1) The law relating to the quorum, meetings, proceedings, and disqualification of members of boards of guardians shall apply to the quorum, meetings, proceedings, and disqualification of members of boards of assistance in like manner as it applies to the quorum, meetings, proceedings and disqualification of members of boards of guardians.

(2) The first meeting of a board of assistance shall be held at such hour, on such day, and at such place as shall be fixed in that behalf before the appointed day by the union committee whose functions are transferred by this Act to such board.

(3) A board of assistance may act notwithstanding one or more vacancies in its membership.

(4) The Minister for Local Government and Public Health may by order make such adaptations of and modifications in any Act relating to the quorum, meetings, proceedings, and disqualification of members of boards of guardians as may, in his opinion, be necessary to enable such Act to have full force and effect in relation to boards of assistance.

(5) Every order made by the Minister under this section shall be laid before each House of the Oireachtas as soon as may be after it is made, and if either such House shall, within the next twenty-one days on which such House has sat after such order is laid before it, pass a resolution annulling such order, such order shall be annulled accordingly without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under such order.
