I, MARY COUGHLAN, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Directive No. 2008/13/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2008 1 , hereby make the following regulations: | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Electro-Medical Equipment used in Human or Veterinary Medicine) (Revocation) Regulations 2008. | ||
2. The European Communities (Electro-Medical Equipment used in Human or Veterinary Medicine) Regulations 1988 ( S.I. No. 90 of 1988 ) are revoked with effect from 31 December 2008. | ||

These Regulations give effect to Directive 2008/13/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council dated 11 March 2008 and revoke the European Communities (Electro-Medical Equipment used in Human or Veterinary Medicine) Regulations 1988 ( S.I. No. 90 of 1988 ), which transposed Directive 84/539/EEC. The Regulations come into effect on 31 December 2008. | ||
