European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Amendment of Regulations) Regulations (No. 2) 2006 | ||||||
I, Mary Coughlan, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Decision 2006/405/EC1 of 7 June 2006, hereby make the following regulations - 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Avian Influenza (Amendment of Regulations) Regulations (No. 2) 2006. | ||||||
2(1) The European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports from Romania) Regulations 2006 ( S.I. No. 71 of 2006 ) are amended by - | ||||||
(a) the substitution, for the definition of “Commission Decision” in regulation 2(1), of - | ||||||
“‘Commission Decision’ means Commission Decision 2005/710/EC2 as amended by Commission Decision 2006/23/EC3 of 20 January 2006, Commission Decision 2006/24/EC4 of 20 January 2006, Commission Decision 2006/321/EC5 of 28 April 2006, Commission Decision 2006/396/EC6 of 2 June 2006 and Commission Decision 2006/405/EC of 7 June 2006;”, and | ||||||
(a) the substitution, for the definition of “Romania” in regulation 2(1) of- | ||||||
“‘Romania’ means the territory of Romania as described in Part B of the Annex to the Commission Decision;”. | ||||||
(2) The European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports from Croatia) Regulations 2005 ( S.I. No. 691 of 2005 ) are amended by - | ||||||
(a) the substitution, for the definition of “Commission Decision” in regulation 2(1), of - | ||||||
“‘Commission Decision’ means Commission Decision means Commission Decision 2005/758/EC7 as amended | ||||||
by Commission Decision 2006/11/EC8 , Commission Decision 2006/256/EC9 , Commission Decision 2006/321/EC10 and Commission Decision 2006/405/EC of 7 June 2006;”, and | ||||||
(b) the substitution, for the definition of “Croatia” in regulation 2(1) of- | ||||||
“‘Croatia’ means part of the territory of Croatia as described in the Annex to the Commission Decision;”. | ||||||
(3) The European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Movement of Pet Birds) Regulations 2005 ( S.I. No. 708 of 2005 ) are amended by the substitution, for the definition of “Commission Decision” in regulation 2(1), of - | ||||||
“‘Commission Decision’ means Commission Decision means Commission Decision 2005/759/EC11 of 27 October 2005 and the corrigenda to Commission Decision 2005/759/EC of 5 November 2005 as amended by Commission Decision 2005/862/EC12 of 30 November 2005, Commission Decision 2006/79/EC13 of 31 January 2006 and Commission Decision 2006/405/EC of 7 June 2006;”. | ||||||
(4) The European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports of Pet Birds) Regulations 2005 ( S.I. No. 709 of 2005 ) are amended by the substitution, for the definition of “Commission Decision” in regulation 2(1), of - | ||||||
“‘Commission Decision’ means Commission Decision 2005/760/EC14 as amended by Commission Decision 2005/862/EC of 30 November 2005, Commission Decision 2006/79/EC of 31 January 2006 and Commission Decision 2006/405/EC of 7 June 2006;”. | ||||||
(5) The European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports from Bulgaria) Regulations 2006 ( S.I. No. 217 of 2006 ) are amended by - | ||||||
(a) the substitution, for the definition of “Commission Decision” in regulation 2(1), of - | ||||||
“‘Commission Decision’ means Commission Decision 2006/247/EC15 of 27 March 2006 as amended by Commission Decision 2006/405/EC of 7 June 2006;”, and | ||||||
(b) Regulation 3(1) is amended by substituting “part B” for “part A” in each place where it occurs. | ||||||
(6) The European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports from Switzerland) Regulations 2006 ( S.I. No. 228 of 2006 ) are amended by the substitution, for the definition of “Commission Decision” in regulation 2(1), of - | ||||||
“‘Commission Decision’ means Commission Decision 2006/265/EC16 of 31 March 2006 as amended by Commission Decision 2006/405/EC of 7 June 2006;”. | ||||||

These Regulations give effect to Commission Decision 2006/405/EC of 7 June 2006 and amends and extends the period of application of National Regulations ( S.I. No.71 of 2006 , S.I. No. 691 of 2005 , S.I. No. 708 of 2005 , S.I. No. 709 of 2005 , S.I. No. 217 of 2006 and S.I. No. 228 of 2006 ) implementing EU Safeguard Decisions controlling imports as a result of Avian Influenza. | ||||||
