ROAD TRAFFIC (PARKING FEES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1995.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 90 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Parking Fees) (Amendment) Regulations, 1995.

(2) These Regulations and the Road Traffic (Parking Fees) Regulations, 1969 ( S.I. No. 169 of 1969 ) shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Road Traffic (Parking Fees) Regulations, 1969 and 1995.

2. Paragraph (b) of article 2 of the Road Traffic (Parking Fees) Regulations, 1969 is hereby amended by the deletion of the words "with the approval of the Minister for Local Government".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These regulations remove the need for the approval of the Minister for the Environment to the disposal, by local authorities, of income from parking fees received by them.
