LOCAL GOVERNMENT (PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT) ACT, 1983, (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1984.

The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 26 (3) of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1983 (No. 28 of 1983), hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1983 , (Commencement) Order, 1984.

2. In this Order—

"the Act of 1983" means the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1983 .

"the Act of 1976" means the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1976 (No. 20 of 1976).

3. On the 20th day of March, 1984—

( a ) sections 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 23 of the Act of 1983 shall come into operation;

( b ) sub-sections (11), (12), (13), (14) and (15) of section 5 and sub-sections (8), (9), (10), (11) and (12) of section 7 of the Act of 1983 shall come into operation; and

( c ) section 25 of the Act of 1983 shall come into operation for the purpose of effecting the repeal of sections 3(2), 4 and 31 of the Act of 1976 and of articles 2 to 24 inclusive of the Schedule to that Act.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings into operation on 20th March, 1984, the provisions of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1983 , not already in operation.
