WATERFORD COUNTY BOROUGH (WARDS) REGULATIONS, 1983.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 88 of the Electoral Act, 1963 (No. 19 of 1963) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Waterford County Borough (Wards) Regulations, 1983.

2. These Regulations shall come into force on the 15th day of April, 1983.

3. The Waterford County Borough (Wards) Regulations, 1970 ( S.I. No. 1 of 1970 ) are hereby revoked.

4. In these Regulations the County Borough means the County Borough of Waterford.

5. The County Borough shall be divided into the wards set out in the first column of the Schedule to these Regulations.

6. (1) Each such ward shall consist of the area described in the second column of the said Schedule opposite the name of such ward.

(2) In the said Schedule—

( a ) a reference to a line drawn along any road, river, street or bridge shall be construed as a reference to a line drawn along the centre of such road, river, street or bridge;

( b ) a reference to the point at which any road, river, street or bridge is said to intersect or to join any road, river, street or bridge shall be construed as a reference to the point at which a line drawn along the centre of the one would be intersected or joined by a line drawn along the centre of the other;

( c ) a reference to the point at which any road or river intersects or joins a boundary shall be construed as a reference to the point at which a line drawn along the middle of such road or river would intersect or join such boundary.

That part of the County Borough situated within a line drawn as follows:—

Commencing at the junction of the County Borough boundary and Cork Road; thence in an easterly direction along Cork Road to its westernmost junction with Ballybeg Drive; thence commencing in a southerly direction and proceeding along Ballybeg Drive to its easternmost junction with Cork Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along Cork Road to its junction with Kilbarry Road; thence commencing in a south-westerly direction and proceeding along Kilbarry Road and Knockeen Road to its intersection by the County Borough boundary; thence commencing in a south-westerly direction and proceeding along the County Borough boundary to the starting point.

Ballybricken

That part of the County Borough situated within a line drawn as follows:—

Commencing at the junction of Morgan Street and Military Road; thence in a south-westerly direction along Military Road to its junction with Lower Yellow Road; thence in an easterly direction along Lower Yellow Road and the southern side of Ballybricken Green to its junction with Mayor's Walk; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern side of Ballybricken Green to its junction with the northern side of Ballybricken Green; thence in a westerly direction along the northern side of Ballybricken Green to its junction with The Glen; thence in a southerly direction along the western side of Ballybricken Green to its junction with Morgan Street; thence in a north-westerly direction along Morgan Street to the starting point.

Ballymaclode

That part of the County Borough situated within a line drawn as follows:—

Commencing at the western junction of King's Channel and the County Borough boundary; thence commencing in an easterly direction and proceeding along the County Borough boundary to its intersection by Dunmore Road; thence in a north-westerly direction along Dunmore Road to its junction with Island Lane; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along Island Lane and its imaginary north-easterly projection to its intersection by King's Channel; thence commencing in a north-westerly direction and proceeding along King's Channel to the starting point.

Ballynakill

That part of the County Borough situated within a line drawn as follows:—

Commencing at the junction of Dunmore Road and Island Lane; thence in a north-westerly direction along Dunmore Road to its junction with the imaginary south-westerly projection of the western boundary of the curtilage of the house known as "Glencoragh", Dunmore Road; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along the said imaginary projection, the said boundary and the boundary between Glenville Estate and the curtilage of the house known as "Ballygar", Dunmore Road, and the imaginary northerly projection of the last mentioned boundary to its junction with the County Borough boundary; thence commencing in an easterly direction and proceeding along the County Borough boundary to its western junction with King's Channel; thence commencing in a southerly direction and proceeding along King's Channel to its intersection by the imaginary north-easterly projection of Island Lane; thence in a south-westerly direction along the said imaginary projection and Island Lane to the starting point.

Commencing at the intersection of Cork Road by the County Borough boundary; thence commencing in a northerly direction and proceeding along the County Borough boundary to its intersection by the Old Kilmeadan Road; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along the Old Kilmeadan Road to its junction with Skibbereen Bridge Road; thence in a southerly direction along Skibbereen Bridge Road to its junction with Lisduggan Stream; thence commencing in a southerly direction and proceeding along the said stream to its junction with Browne's Road; thence in a south-westerly direction along Browne's Road to its junction with Cork Road; thence in a westerly direction along Cork Road to the starting point.

Ballytruckle

That part of the County Borough situated within a line drawn as follows:—

Commencing at the junction of Inner Ring Road and Ballytruckle Road; thence commencing in a southerly direction and proceeding along Ballytruckle Road to its junction with the imaginary westerly projection of the southern boundary of Kilcohan Park; thence in an easterly direction along the said imaginary projection and the said boundary of Kilcohan Park and its imaginary easterly projection to its junction with Kill St. Lawrence Road; thence commencing in a south-easterly direction and proceeding along Kill St. Lawrence Road to its junction with the County Borough boundary; thence commencing in a south-westerly direction and proceeding along the County Borough boundary to its junction with Tramore Road; thence commencing in a north-westerly direction and proceeding along Tramore Road to its junction with Inner Ring Road, passing in an anti-clockwise direction around and excluding the roundabout at the said junction; thence commencing in a south-easterly direction and proceeding along Inner Ring Road to the starting point.

Commencing at the point at which the River Suir is intersected by Waterford Bridge; thence in a south-westerly direction along Waterford Bridge, Bridge Street and Summerhill to its junction with Gracedieu Road; thence in a north-westerly direction along Gracedieu Road to its junction with Quarry Road; thence in a northerly direction along Quarry Road to its junction with Bilberry Road; thence in a northerly direction along an imaginary straight line drawn due north from the said junction to the intersection of the said imaginary straight line by the County Borough boundary; thence in a south-easterly direction along the County Borough boundary and the River Suir to the starting point.

Centre A

Commencing at the junction of Upper Yellow Road and Keane's Road; thence in a southerly direction along Keane's Road to its junction with Griffith Place; thence in an easterly direction along Griffith Place to its junction with Ard na Greine; thence in a northerly direction along Ard na Greine to its junction with Upper Yellow Road; thence in a westerly direction along Upper Yellow Road to the starting point.

Morrison's Road

That part of the County Borough situated within a line drawn as follows:—

Commencing at the junction of Lower Yellow Road and Morrisson's Road; thence in an easterly direction along Lower Yellow Road to its junction with Doyle's Street; thence in a southerly direction along Doyle's Street to its junction with Barrack Street; thence in a south-westerly direction along Barrack Street to its junction with Morrisson's Road; thence in a northerly direction along Morrisson's Road to the starting point.

Commencing at the junction of Browne's Road and Tir Connell Road; thence commencing in a north-westerly direction and proceeding along Tir Connell Road to its junction with Tir Connell Avenue; thence commencing in a south-westerly direction and proceeding along Tir Connell Avenue to its intersection by the imaginary north-easterly projection of the northern boundary of Number 136 Lismore Park; thence in a south-westerly direction along the said imaginary projection, the said boundary and its imaginary south-westerly projection to its intersection by Lisduggan Stream; thence commencing in a north-westerly direction and proceeding along Lisduggan Stream to its junction with Skibbereen Bridge Road; thence in a north-westerly direction along Skibbereen Bridge Road to its junction with Cleaboy Road; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along Cleaboy Road to its junction with Keane's Road; thence in a south-easterly direction along Keane's Road to its junction with Lisduggan Road; thence in a south-westerly direction along Lisduggan Road and Browne's Road to the starting point.

Commencing at the junction of Lisduggan Stream and the imaginary south-westerly projection of the northern boundary of Number 136 Lismore Park; thence in a north-easterly direction along the said imaginary projection, the said boundary and its imaginary north-easterly projection to its junction with Tir Connell Avenue; thence in a southerly direction along Tir Connell Avenue to its junction with Tir Connell Road; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along Tir Connell Road to its junction with Browne's Road; thence in a south-westerly direction along Browne's Road to its junction with Lisduggan Stream; thence commencing in a westerly direction and proceeding along Lisduggan Stream to the starting point.
