S.I. No. 250/1980 - European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) Regulations, 1980.

		I, RAY MacSHARRY, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to certain Commission Directives amending Council Directive No. 70/524/EEC of 23 November, 1970 (which Commission Directives are specified in Regulation 2(b) of the regulations hereunder), hereby make the following regulations: 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) Regulations, 1980.
		(2) The European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) Regulations, 1974 and 1979, and these Regulations may be cited together as the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) Regulations, 1974 to 1980. 2. Regulation 2 of the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) Regulations, 1974 ( S.I. No. 302 of 1974 ), as amended by Regulation 3 of the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) Regulations, 1979 ( S.I. No. 6 of 1979 ) shall be construed and have effect as if the reference in the definition of "the Council Directive" to the Ninth Commission Directive No. 74/421/EEC of 23rd July, 1974⁽¹⁾, included a reference to each of the following, namely, the Twenty-Sixth Commission Directive No. 79/-139/EEC of 18 December, 1978⁽²⁾, the Twenty-Seventh Commission Directive No. 79/553/EEC of 7 June 1979⁽³⁾, the Twenty-Eighth Commission Directive No. 79/697/EEC of 20 July 1979⁽⁴⁾, the Twenty-Ninth Commission Directive 79/-1011/EEC of 15 November 1979⁽⁵⁾, the Thirtieth Commission Directive No. 80/131/EEC of 9 January, 1980⁽⁶⁾, and the Thirty-First Commission Directive No. 80/440/EEC of 8 April 1980⁽⁷⁾.

		EXPLANATORY NOTE
		These Regulations amend the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) Regulations, 1974 and 1979, so as to bring into force amendments made in the meantime to Council Directive 70/524/EEC.
