FOREIGN POST AMENDMENT (No. 19) WARRANT, 1978.

I, TOM FITZPATRICK, Minister of State at the Department of Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 , 3 and 6 of the Post Office (Amendment) Act 1969 (No. 18 of 1969), and the Posts and Telegraphs (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1978 ( S.I. No. 3 of 1978 ), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Warrant may be cited as the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 19) Warrant, 1978.

(2) This Warrant shall come into operation on the 10th day of July, 1978.

2. In this warrant "the Warrant of 1977" means the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 18) Warrant, 1977 ( S.I. No. 213 of 1977 ).

3. Regulation 5 (1) of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 4) Warrant, 1956 ( S.I. No. 148 of 1956 ) (inserted by Regulation 6 of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 15) Warrant, 1974 ( S.I. No. 281 of 1974 )), as amended by Regulation 5 of the Warrant of 1977 is hereby amended by the substitution of "62p" for "44p".

4. Regulation 5 (2) of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 5) Warrant, 1957 ( S.I. No. 58 of 1957 ), inserted by Regulation 7 of the Warrant of 1977, is hereby amended by the substitution in paragraph (a) of "44p" for "31 p".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Warrant applies to the Foreign Post service and comes into operation on the 10th July, 1978. It authorises increases in the surface bulk post rates (ordinary and reduced).
