AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS (RESTRICTION OF EXPORT) ORDER, 1975.

I, JUSTIN KEATING, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947), and the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (Transfer of Powers) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 52 of 1956 ), as amended by the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (Transfer of Powers) Order, 1956 (Amendment) Order, 1972 ( S.I. No. 209 of 1972 ), hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1975.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of July, 1975.

3. The exportation of any article specified in the Schedule to this Order to places other than other Member States of the European Economic Community is hereby prohibited save under and in accordance with a licence in that behalf issued under the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947).

4. The Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) (No. 2) Order, 1972 ( S.I. No. 307 of 1972 ), is hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE.

Articles the export of which is prohibited to places other than other Member States of the European Economic Community.

Raw skins of sheep and lambs (fresh, salted, dried, limed or pickled) and pieces thereof, including sheep and lamb skins and pieces thereof from which the wool has not been removed.

Fuel wood, of coniferous wood and pine and fir shavings.

Wood in the rough, whether or not stripped of its bark or merely roughed down other than poles of coniferous wood, injected or otherwise impregnated to any degree, not less than 6 m or more than 18 m in length and with a circumference at the butt end of more than 45 cm but not more than 90 cm.

Wood, roughly squared or half-squared, but not further manufactured other than tropical hard wood, but not including poplar.

Wood sawn lengthwise, sliced or peeled, but not further prepared, of a thickness exceeding 5 mm of coniferous wood, not including small boards for the manufacture of boxes, sieves or riddles and the like.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to enable the Minister for Industry and Commerce to control, for supply and other reasons, the export of the commodities indicated in the Order and to harmonise Irish law relating to the control of exports with that of the European Communities.
