AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS (RESTRICTION OF EXPORT) (NO. 2) ORDER, 1972.

I, PATRICK J. LALOR, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947), and the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (Transfer of Powers) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 52 of 1956 ), as amended by the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (Transfer of Powers) Order, 1956 (Amendment) Order, 1972 ( S.I. No. 209 of 1972 ), hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) (No. 2) Order, 1972.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1973.

3. The exportation of any articles specified in the Schedule to this Order is hereby prohibited save under and in accordance with a licence in that behalf issued under the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947).

4. The Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 56 of 1956 ), and the Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1972 ( S.I. No. 254 of 1972 ), are hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE.

Articles the Export of which is Prohibited.

Raw skins of sheep and lambs (fresh, salted, dried, limed or pickled) and pieces thereof, including sheep and lambskins and pieces thereof from which the wool has not been removed.

Fuel wood, in logs, in billets, in twigs or in faggots; wood waste, including sawdust.

Wood in the rough, whether or not stripped of its bark, or merely roughed down.

Wood, roughly squared or half-squared, but not further manufactured.

Wood sawn lengthwise, sliced or peeled, but not further prepared, of a thickness exceeding 5 mm.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to enable the Minister for Industry and Commerce to control, for supply reasons and to harmonise Irish law with that of the European Communities, the export of the commodities indicated in the schedule to this Order.
