S.I. No. 15 of 1971.

ROAD TRAFFIC (SPEED LIMITS) (COUNTY OF LEITRIM) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1971,

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 45 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961), hereby makes the following Regulations:–

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Leitrim) (Amendment) Regulations, 1971.

(2) The Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Leitrim) Regulations, 19680 ( S.I. No. 9 of 1968 ) and these Regulations shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Leitrim) Regulations, 1968 and 1971.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of February, 1971.

3. In these Regulations "Principal Regulations" means the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Leitrim) Regulations, 1968.

4. The First Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended in the manner specified in the Schedule to these Regulations.

SCHEDULE.

Amendments to the First Schedule to the Principal Regulations.

1. There shall be substituted–

(a) at reference 3(b) "425" for "325".

(b) at reference 3(c) "Church Street and its continuation as the Manorhamilton Road to a point 100 yards west of its easternmost junction with Furnace Hill" for the matter at the said reference.

(c) at reference 4(a) "140" for "40".

2. There shall be added–

(a) at reference 3

"(i) Furnace Hill for a distance of 230 yards from its easternmost junction with the Manorhamilton Road."

(b) the following additional references–

"7. The following roads at Carrigallon :–

(a) The Ballinamore-Killeshandra road between a point 350 yards north of its junction with the Aughavass Road and a point 515 yards east of that junction.

(b) The Aughavass Road for a distance of 220 yards from its junction with the Ballinamore-Killeshandra road.

(c) The Moyne Road for a distance of 330 yards from its junction with the Ballinamore-Killeshandra road.

(d) The Mill Road for a distance of 15 yards from its junction with the Ballinamore-Killeshandra road.

8. The following roads at Drumkeeran:–

(a) The Carrick-on-Shannon–Manorhamilton road between a point 100 yards east of its junction with the Protestant Church Road and a point 350 yards northwest of its junction with the Dowra Road.

(b) Bargowla Road for a distance of 30 yards from its junction with the Carrick-on-Shannon–Manorhamilton road.

(c) The Dowra Road for a distance of 50 yards from its junction with the Carrick-on-Shannon–Manorhamilton road.

(d) The Protestant Church Road for a distance of 150 yards from its junction with the Carrick-on-Shannon–Manorhamilton road."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Leitrim) Regulations,1968, and alter the speed limits applicable to certain roads in County Leitrim.
