AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS (RESTRICTION OF EXPORT) ORDER, 1970.

I, JAMES GIBBONS, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Agriculture and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947), as adapted by the Agriculture (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 146 of 1965 ), hereby order as follows:—

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1970.

(2) This Order shall come in to operation on the 1st day of July, 1970.

2. In this Order—

"the Principal Order" means the Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1953 ( S.I. No. 234 of 1953 );

"the Order of 1954" means the Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1954 ( S.I. No. 262 of 1954 );

"the Order of 1956" means the Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) (No. 2) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 94 of 1956 ).

3. Part I of the Schedule to the Principal Order, as amended by Article 5 of the Order of 1954 and by Article 4 of the Order of 1956, is hereby amended by—

(a) the deletion of paragraph 9,

(b) the deletion of paragraph 10, and

(c) the deletion of paragraph 11.

4. Part II of the Schedule to the Principal Order, as amended by Article 6 of the Order of 1954 and by Article 5 of the Order of 1956, is hereby amended by the addition of the following paragraphs:

"25. Cattle, dead (including bulls, cows, bullocks, heifers and calves), or any part thereof.

26. Sheep, dead (including lambs), or any part thereof.

27. Pigs, dead, or any part thereof.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order removes with effect from the 1st July 1970 the licensing control on the export of fallen animals (dead cattle, sheep and pigs) and parts thereof to the U.K.
