PATENTS, DESIGNS AND TRADE MARKS (INTERNATIONAL ARRANGEMENTS) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1963.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by subsection (5) of section 152 of the Industrial and Commercial Property (Protection) Act, 1927 (No. 16 of 1927), as adapted by section 2 of the Executive Powers (Consequential Provisions) Act, 1937 (No. 20 of 1937), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (International Arrangements) (Amendment) Order, 1963.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3.—(1) The Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (International Arrangements) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 22 of 1959 ), is hereby amended by—

(a) the insertion in the First Schedule thereto after "Ceylon" (inserted by the Order of 1960) of—

" Central African Republic

Republic of Chad

Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville)",

(b) the insertion in the said Schedule after "Israel" (inserted by the Order of 1960) of "Republic of the Ivory Coast",

(c) the insertion in the said Schedule after "Japan" (inserted by the Order of 1960) of "Kingdom of Laos",

(d) the insertion in the said Schedule after "New Zealand, together with Western Samoa" (inserted by the Order of 1960) of "Federal Republic of Nigeria", and

(e) the insertion in the said Schedule after "United States of America" (inserted by the Order of 1960) of "Republic of Upper Volta".

(2) In this paragraph "the Order of 1960" means the Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (International Arrangements) (Amendment) Order, 1960 ( S.I. No. 104 of 1960 ).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The amendment extends the effect of the principal Order to the Central African Republic, Republic of Chad, Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville), Republic of the Ivory Coast, Kingdom of Laos, Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Republic of Upper Volta.
