AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS (RESTRICTION OF EXPORT OF SUGAR COMMODITIES) (No. 2) ORDER, 1963.

I, JOHN LYNCH, Minister for Industry and Commerce in exercise of the powers conferred on me by virtue of section 2 of the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947), and the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (Transfer of Powers) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 52 of 1956 ), hereby order as follows:—

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export of Sugar Commodities) (No. 2) Order, 1963.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of September, 1963.

2. Subject to paragraph 3 of this Order, the exportation of any commodity (excluding sugar syrups, condensed milk and beer) made from sugar or invert sugar, or to which sugar or invert sugar has been added in the course of preparation, is hereby prohibited save under and in accordance with a licence in that behalf issued under the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947).

3. This Order shall not apply to the exportation by parcel post of any commodity made from sugar or invert sugar, or to which sugar or invert sugar has been added in the course of preparation.

4. The Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export of Sugar Commodities) Order, 1963 ( S.I. No. 60 of 1963 ), is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to apply control to the export to all destinations of goods containing invert sugar other than sugar syrups, condensed milk, beer and exports by parcel post, and to continue the control on the export of goods containing sugar.
