VI. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That from and after the first day of May one thousand seven hundred and sixty six the church wardens of every parish in their respective parishes shall within three months after every Easter Tuesday enter into office, and collect and pay over the watch money of their respective parishes to the supervisors or directors of the watch; which money so paid over shall be applied to the uses in this and the aforesaid former act contained, and to no other use whatsoever; and that it shall and may be lawful for the church wardens and parishioners of every parish, or the major part thereof, in their respective parishes to make such provision for superannuated watchman or watchmen maimed in their service of watchmen, or therein otherwise rendered incapable of further service, who shall be recommended by the supervisors or directors of the watch, as shall be suitable to the state of the fund for supporting a regular watch, and the merit and circumstances of the watchmen so recommended.
