S.I. No. 458/2017 - Taxi Regulation (Maximum Fares) Order 2017


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 24th October, 2017.

The National Transport Authority, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 24 of the Taxi Regulation Acts 2013 and 2016 (No. 37 of 2013 as amended), hereby makes the following order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Taxi Regulation (Maximum Fares) Order 2017.

2. This Order shall come into operation on 1 February 2018.

3. In this Order “public holiday” has the same meaning as it has in paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Second Schedule to the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997 with the addition, where a public holiday falls on a Sunday, of the following weekday.

4. The fares contained in the Schedule are fixed as the maximum fares and charges that may be charged by the driver of a taxi in respect of journey undertaken in the State.

Toll charges, in accordance with a toll scheme adopted by a road authority under the Roads Acts 1993 to 2015, may be charged as incurred.
