REGIONAL TECHNICAL COLLEGES ACT, 1992 (CHANGE OF NAME OF COLLEGE) ORDER, 1997

I, Micheál Martin, Minister for Education and Science, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 (4) of the Regional Technical Colleges Act, 1992 (No. 16 of 1992)( as adapted by the Education(Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1997( S.I. No. 430 of 1997 )), and following consultation with the governing body of the Regional Technical College, Cork, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Regional Technical Colleges Act, 1992 (Change of Name of College) Order, 1997.

2. (1) The name of the college known, in the English language, as the Regional Technical College, Cork, and, in the Irish language, as Coláiste Teicniúil Réigiúnach, Corcaigh, is hereby changed, in the English language, to Cork Institute of Technology and, in the Irish language, to Institiúid Teicneolaíochta Chorcaí.

(2) The First Schedule to the Regional Technical Colleges Act, 1992 (No. 16 of 1992), is hereby amended in column (1) by the substitution for "Coláiste Teicniúil Réigiúnach, Corcaigh. Regional Technical College, Cork." of "Institiúid Teicneolaíochta Chorcaí. Cork Institute of Technology.".
