POST OFFICE SAVINGS BANK REGULATIONS, 1921 (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1969.

I, PATRICK JOSEPH LALOR, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections I and II of the Post Office Savings Bank Act, 1861, and the Posts and Telegraphs (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1967 ( S.I. No. 158 of 1967 ), with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following regulations :

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Post Office Savings Bank Regulations, 1921 (Amendment) Regulations, 1969.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 28th day of April, 1969.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

3. (1) The Post Office Savings Bank Regulations, 1921, shall be amended as follows :

(a) in Regulation 45, as amended by Regulation 2 (a) of the Regulations of 1958, " £30 " is hereby substituted for " £10 ", and

(b) in Regulation 47, as amended by Regulation 2 (b) of the Regulations of 1958, " £100 " is hereby substituted for " Twenty-five pounds ".

(2) In this Regulation " the Regulations of 1958 " means the Post Office Savings Bank Regulations, 1921 (Amendment) Regulations, 1958 ( S.I. No. 91 of 1958 ).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations increase the amount which may be withdrawn on demand from £10 to £30 and the amount which may be withdrawn by telegraphic advice from £25 to £100.
