I, DERMOT AHERN, TD, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1(5) of the Intoxicating Liquor Act 2008 (No. 17 of 2008), hereby order as follows: | ||
Citation | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Intoxicating Liquor Act 2008 (Commencement) Order 2008. | ||
Commencement | ||
2. The 30th day of July 2008 is fixed as the day on which the Intoxicating Liquor Act 2008 (No. 17 of 2008), other than— | ||
(a) section 9, and | ||
(b) section 14 in so far as it relates to inserting section 37C into the Intoxicating Liquor Act 1988 (No. 16 of 1988), | ||
shall come into operation. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE | ||

This Order sets 30 July 2008 as the date when all sections of the Intoxicating Liquor Act 2008 , except section 9 (location of sale in supermarkets etc.) and section 14 (as it applies to test purchasing), come into operation. |
