I, BRENDAN SMITH, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Decision 2008/297/EC of 27 March 2008 1 , hereby make the following regulations— | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Swine Vesicular Disease) (Restriction on Imports from Italy) (Amendment) Regulations 2008. | ||
2. The European Communities (Swine Vesicular Disease) (Restriction on Imports from Italy) Regulations 2007 ( S.I. No. 71 of 2007 ) are amended in Regulation 2(1) by the substitution for the definition of “Commission Decision” of— | ||
“ ‘Commission Decision’ means Commission Decision No 2005/779/EC of8 November 2005; Commission Decision 2007/9/EC of 18 December 2006 and Commission Decision 2008/297/EC of 27 March 2008;”. | ||

This Order gives effect to Commission Decision No. 2008/297/EC of 27 March 2008, concerning animal health rules due to the presence of swine vesicular disease in certain parts of Italy. | ||
