LOCAL GOVERNMENT (AN CHOMHAIRLE LEABHARLANNA) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2008 | ||

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government by section 79 of the Local Government Act, 2001 (No. 37 of 2001), which powers are delegated to me by the Environment, Heritage and Local Government (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order 2007 ( S.I. No. 678 of 2007 ), I, Tony Killeen, Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, hereby make the following Regulations— | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government (An Chomhairle Leabharlanna) (Amendment) Regulations, 2008. | ||
2. These Regulations, the Principal Regulations and the Regulations of 2003 & 2007 shall be construed as one and cited together as the Local Government (An Chomhairle Leabharlanna) Regulations, 1997 to 2008. | ||
3. In these Regulations, — the “Principal Regulations” means the Local Government (An Chomhairle Leabharlanna) Regulations, 1997 ( S.I. No. 499 of 1997 ) — the “Regulations of 2003” means the Local Government (An Chomhairle Leabharlanna) (Amendment) Regulations, 2003 ( S.I. No. 28 of 2003 ) — the “Regulations of 2007” means the Local Government (An Chomhairle Leabharlanna) (Amendment) Regulations, 2007 ( S.I. No. 708 of 2007 ). | ||
4. Article 5(3) of the Principal Regulations, as amended by Article 5 of the Regulations of 2003, is hereby amended by substituting the following for subarticle 5(3)(a): | ||
“5(3)(a) one, who shall be a member of a library authority, on the nomination of the Association of County and City Councils.” | ||

These Regulations amend the Local Government (An Chomhairle Leabharlanna) Regulations, 1997 ( S.I. No. 499 of 1997 ) and Local Government (An Chomhairle Leabharlanna) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 (S.I. 28 of 2003) by incorporating the new nomenclature of the Association of County and City Councils |
