EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (WELFARE OF LAYING HENS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2007 | ||

I, MARY COUGHLAN, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive No. 2006/83/EC of 23 October 2006 1 , hereby make the following regulations- | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Welfare of laying hens) (Amendment) Regulations 2007. | ||
2. The European Communities (Welfare of laying hens) Regulations 2002 ( S.I. No. 98 of 2002 ) are amended— | ||
(a) in Regulation 2(1), by the substitution for the definition of “Commission Directive”, of— | ||
“ ‘Commission Directive’ means Commission Directive No. 2002/4/EC of 30 January 2002 as amended by Commission Directive No. 2006/83/EC of 23 October 2006;”, and | ||
(b) in Regulation 4(8)(b), by the substitution for “54” of “45”. | ||
