Tour Operators (Licensing) (Amendment) Regulations, 2006

The Commission for Aviation Regulation, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 7 of the Transport (Tour Operators and Travel Agents) Act, 1982 (No. 3 of 1982 and section 9 of the Aviation Regulation Act, 2001 (No 1 of 2001), hereby makes the following regulations:

1.         These Regulations may be cited the Tour Operators (Licensing) (Amendment Regulations, 2006.

2.         These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 November 2006.

3.        In these Regulations, the “Principal Regulations” means the Tour Operators (Licensing) Regulations, 1993, (S.I. 182 of 1993).

4.         Regulations 5 and 6 (a) of the Principal Regulations are hereby revoked.

5.         The First Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby revoked.

6.         The following Regulation is substituted for Regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations:

“A person who applies for a tour operator's licence shall, if the Commission so requires, furnish any information requested by it to enable it to satisfy itself as to any or all of the matters specified in section 6 (3) of the Act.”
