INLAND POST AMENDMENT (NO. 75) SCHEME, 2006.

An Post, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 70 of the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act 1983 (No. 24 of 1983) as amended by Regulation 8(4) of the European Communities (Postal Services) Regulations 2002 ( S.I. No. 616 of 2002 ), and with the concurrence of the Commission for Communications Regulation to the increases in charges herein made, hereby makes the following Scheme:

1.         This Scheme may be cited as the Inland Post Amendment (No. 75) Scheme, 2006.

2.         This Scheme shall be operative with effect from the 20th day of March, 2006.

3.         In this Scheme, “the Principal Warrant” means the Inland Post Warrant, 1939 ( S.I. No. 202 of 1939 ) as amended:-

“Scheme No. 36” means the Inland Post Amendment (No. 36) Scheme, 1986 ( S.I. No. 362 of 1986 ).

“Scheme No. 69” means the Inland Post Amendment (No. 69) Scheme, 2003 ( S.I. No. 400 of 2003 ).

“Scheme No. 70” means the Inland Post Amendment (No. 70) Scheme, 2003 ( S.I. No. 401 of 2003 ).

4.         Words defined in the Principal Warrant shall have the same meaning in this Scheme.

5.         The First Schedule to the Principal Scheme is hereby amended by the substitution for the entry “0.60” per item in the second column opposite the entry “50g” in the fourth column of the entry “0.90 per item,” and by the substitution for the entry “0.96 per item” in the second column opposite the entry “50g” in the fourth column of the entry “2.00 per item”.

This Scheme applies to the Inland Post Service. It authorises increases in the rates of postage and fees charged for postage to which the Commission for Communications Regulation concurred by Decision, D12/05 dated 20th December, 2005 with effect from the 20th March, 2006.
