GARDA SÍOCHÁNA ACT 2005 (COMMENCEMENT) (No. 2) ORDER 2005.

I, MICHAEL McDOWELL, Minister for Justice Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Garda Síochána Act 2005 (No. 20 of 2005), hereby order as follows:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Garda Síochána Act 2005 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order 2005.

2.  In this order, “Act” means the Garda Síochána Act 2005 (No. 20 of 2005).

3.  The 9th day of December 2005 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act come into operation:

(a)  sections 24, 63 to 66, 67(3), 67(4), 67(5), 68 to 72, 76 to 80 and 121(2)(b),

(b)  Schedule 2 (in so far as it relates to a person transferred under section 72 of the Act to the Commission), and

(c)  Schedule 4.

This Statutory Instrument brings into operation from 9 December, 2005 certain provisions of the Garda Síochána Act 2005.
