CIVIL REGISTRATION (FEES AND ALLOWANCES) REGULATIONS 2005.

I, Mary Harney, Minister for Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 9 of the Vital Statistics and Births, Deaths and Marriages Act 1952 (No. 8 of 1952) and sections 3 and 67 of the Civil Registration Act 2004 (No. 3 of 2004), (as amended by section 1 of the Civil Registration (Amendment) Act 2005 (No. 19 of 2005)), with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following regulations:

1.   These Regulations may be cited as the Civil Registration (Fees and Allowances) Regulations 2005.

2.   These Regulations shall come into effect on 5^th December 2005.

3.   The fee fixed in section 3 (b) of the Registration of Marriages Act, 1936 is altered to €0.86.

4.   (a)  The allowance fixed by section 2 (1) (a) of the Registration of Marriages Act, 1936 is altered to €43.17 in respect of each year.

(b)  The allowance fixed by section 2 (1) (b) of the Registration of Marriages Act, 1936 is altered to an amount bearing to €43.17 the same proportion as the said part of such year bears to one year.

5.   The amount of the fee for each entry in a register of births, a register of stillbirths or a register of deaths as provided for under Section 67A(1)(a) of the Civil Registration Act 2004 is €0.86. This regulation applies to registers maintained under Section 13 of the Civil Registration Act 2004 .

6.   (a)  The amount of the allowance payable to a Registrar in respect of registration of births, stillbirths and deaths under Section 67A(1)(b) of the Civil Registration Act 2004 is €172.68 in respect of each year, and

(b)  In the case of a part of a year during which the Registrar held office an amount bearing to €172.68 the same ratio as the said part of such year bears to one year.

7.   Fees and allowances paid under section 67A of the Civil Registration Act 2004 (as amended) will be paid quarterly, pro-rata as appropriate on submission of an account in the form set out in the Schedule and certified by the Superintendent Registrar.
