European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports from Russia) (Amendment) Regulations 2005

I, Mary Coughlan, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Decision 2005/740/EC¹ of 20 October 2005, hereby make the following regulations -

1.   These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports from Russia) (Amendment) Regulations 2005.

2.   The European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports from Russia) Regulations 2005 ( S.I No. 669 of 2005 ) are amended by-

(a)  the substitution, for the definition of “Commission Decision” in regulation 2(1), of -

“‘Commission Decision’ means Commission Decision 2005/693/EC² as amended by Commission Decision 2005/740/EC';”,

This Order amends S.I No 669 of 2005 and gives effect to Commission Decision 2005/740/EC of 20 October 2005 concerning certain protective measures in relation to avian influenza in Russia.
