GREYHOUND RACE TRACK (TOTALISATOR)(OPERATING) AMENDMENT REGULATIONS, 1996

Bord na gCon in exercise of the powers conferred on it by sub-section (3) of Section 40 and by sub-section (3) of Section 5 of the Greyhound Industry Act, 1958 (No. 12 of 1958) hereby makes the following regulation, that is to say:-

(1) These regulations may be cited as the Greyhound Race Track (Totalisator) (Operating) (Amendment) Regulations, 1996.

(2) The Greyhound Race Track (Totalisator) (Operating) Regulations, 1971 ( S.I. No. 47 of 1971 ) are hereby amended as follows:-

By the deletion of Article 5(b) and the substitution therefor of an Article in the following terms:-

5(B) The dividend on the unit shall be paid to a multiple of 5 pence and for that purpose every fraction of 5 pence shall as the Board may think proper in respect of each such fraction, be distributed or retained.

(3) These regulations shall come into operation on the 2nd day of November, 1996.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The effect of these regulations is to amend the Greyhound Race Track (Totalisator) (Operating) Regulations, 1971 to allow for an alteration to the payment of the dividend on the unit to a multiple of 5 pence.
