Membership of Board and term of office of certain members. |
1.—(1) Section 14 of An Bord Bia Act, 1994 , is hereby amended in accordance with the following provisions of this section. | |
(2) Subsection (1) shall be deleted and replaced by the following: | ||
“(1) The Board shall consist of a chairman and eleven ordinary members or such greater number of ordinary members not exceeding thirteen as the Minister may prescribe.”. | ||
(3) The following subsection shall be inserted in the section: | ||
“(4A) One ordinary member shall be appointed on the nomination of the Minister for the Marine.”. | ||
(4) In subsection (7), paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) shall be deleted and replaced by the following: | ||
“(a) one-third of such members, calculated by reference to the nearest whole number, shall hold office for three years, and one-third for four years, from the date of their appointment, and | ||
(b) the remaining members shall hold office for the period of five years from the date of their appointment.”. |
