AN BORD BIA (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1995

AN ACT TO AMEND AN BORD BIA ACT, 1994 . [20th July, 1995]

BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS:

Membership of Board and term of office of certain members.

1.—(1) Section 14 of An Bord Bia Act, 1994 , is hereby amended in accordance with the following provisions of this section.

(2) Subsection (1) shall be deleted and replaced by the following:

“(1) The Board shall consist of a chairman and eleven ordinary members or such greater number of ordinary members not exceeding thirteen as the Minister may prescribe.”.

(3) The following subsection shall be inserted in the section:

“(4A) One ordinary member shall be appointed on the nomination of the Minister for the Marine.”.

(4) In subsection (7), paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) shall be deleted and replaced by the following:

“(a) one-third of such members, calculated by reference to the nearest whole number, shall hold office for three years, and one-third for four years, from the date of their appointment, and

(b) the remaining members shall hold office for the period of five years from the date of their appointment.”.

Short title and collective citation.

2.—(1) This Act may be cited as An Bord Bia (Amendment) Act, 1995.

(2) An Bord Bia Act, 1994 , and this Act may be cited together as An Bord Bia Acts, 1994 and 1995.
