SHEEP DIPPING ORDER, 1965 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1994.

I, BRIAN O'SHEA, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 35 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), as adapted by the Agriculture and Food (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1993 ( S.I. No. 11 of 1993 ), and the Agriculture, Food and Forestry (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1993 ( S.I. No. 45 of 1993 ), hereby order as follows:—

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Sheep Dipping Order, 1965 (Amendment) Order, 1994.

(2) In this Order "the Principal Order" means the Sheep Dipping Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 105 of 1965 ).

(3) The Principal Order and this Order may be cited together as the Sheep Dipping Orders, 1965 and 1994.

2. The following provisions of the Principal Order are hereby revoked:

( a ) Articles 7 to 26;

( b ) the Schedule thereto.

3. The Sheep Dipping Order, 1965 (Amendment) Order, 1976 ( S.I. No. 107 of 1976 ), the Sheep Dipping Order, 1965 (Amendment) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 158 of 1977 ), the Sheep Dipping Order, 1965 (Amendment) Order, 1991 ( S.I. No. 137 of 1991 ) and the Sheep Dipping Order, 1965 (Amendment) Order, 1993 ( S.I. No. 282 of 1993 ) are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to abolish the compulsory dipping of sheep as provided for in the Sheep Dipping Orders, 1965 to 1993.
