DISTRICT COURT DISTRICTS AND AREAS (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1994.

I, MÁIRE GEOGHEGAN-QUINN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 26 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the District Court Districts and Areas (Amendment) Order, 1994.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of September, 1994.

2. The First Schedule to the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No 5 of 1961 ), is hereby amended by—

( a ) the deletion of the matter in columns (2), (3), (4) and (5) at reference number 109, and

( b ) the substitution for the matter in column (5) at reference number 118 of the following:

"the area comprising the District Electoral Divisions of Abbeydorney, Arabela, Ardagh, Ardfert, Ballinclogher, Ballyheige, Ballynahaglish, Ballynorig, Ballyseedy, Banna, Bautregaun, Blennerville, Causeway, Clogherbrien, Doon, Kerryhead, Kilflyn, Killahan, Killury, Nohaval, O'Brennan, Ratass, Tralee Rural, Tralee Urban and Tubrid in the county of Kerry".

3. The First Schedule to the District Court (Districts) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 6 of 1961 ), as amended by the District Court Areas (Variation of Days, Hours, Areas and Districts) (Amendment) Order, 1984 ( S.I. No. 247 of 1984 ), is hereby amended by the deletion of "Causeway" in column (3) at reference number 17.

4. The Schedule to the District Court Areas (Amendment) Order, 1970 ( S.I. No. 161 of 1970 ), as amended by the District Court Areas (Variation of Days, Hours, Areas and Districts) (Amendment) Order, 1984 ( S.I. No. 247 of 1984 ), is hereby amended by the deletion of—

( a ) "Causeway", and

( b ) "109",

in column 4 at reference number 17.

5. Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated and not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides for the abolition of the District Court Area of Causeway and the amalgamation of the District Electoral Divisions which comprised that Area with the District Court Area of Tralee.
