COMPANIES (STOCK EXCHANGE) REGULATIONS, 1990.

I, DESMOND O'MALLEY, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 2 of the Companies Act, 1963 (No. 33 of 1963) as amended by section 3 (2) of the Companies Act, 1990 (No. 33 of 1990), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Companies (Stock Exchange) Regulations, 1990.

2. The Irish Unit of the International Stock Exchange of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland Limited is hereby prescribed as a recognised stock exchange for the purposes of the following provisions of the Companies Acts—

( a ) sections 44, 45, 361 and 362 of, and paragraph 28 of the Sixth Schedule to, the Companies Act, 1963 (No. 33 of 1963),

( b ) section 1 of the Companies (Amendment) Act, 1977 (No. 31 of 1977),

( c ) sections 65, 66, 78, 90 to 96, 107, 112, 115, 116, 117, 118, 120, 212,229 and 230 of the Companies Act, 1990 (No. 33 of 1990).

3. The Companies (Stock Exchange) Order, 1975 ( S.I. No. 198 of 1975 ), is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations prescribe the Irish Unit of the International Stock Exchange of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland Limited for the purposes of the provisions listed in the Regulations, and revoke The Companies (Stock Exchange) Regulations, 1975 ( S.I. No. 198 of 1975 ).
