RETAIL PRICES (BREAD) ORDER, 1989.

I, RAY BURKE, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 22A and 22C (inserted by the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1965 (No. 23 of 1965)) of the Prices Act, 1958 (No. 4 of 1958) as amended by the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1972 (No. 20 of 1972), and the Prices Stabilisation Order, 1973 (No. 96 of 1973), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Retail Prices (Bread) Order, 1989.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 16th day of January, 1989.

4. This Order applies to pan bread wrapped and sliced when sold in loaves of 800 grams.

5. In this Order "pan bread" means bread baked in containers.

6. The price charged for bread to which this Order applies shall be the price obtaining for that bread on the 20th day of December, 1988.

7. For the purpose of paragraph 6 of this Order, the price specified in respect of bread in any notice under the Retail Prices (Food) Display Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 127 of 1977 ) displayed on the 20th day of December, 1988, shall be deemed to be the price obtaining on that day for that bread.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order fixes the maximum retail price for pan bread wrapped and sliced when sold in loaves of 800 grams. The maximum price is that obtaining on the 20th day of December 1988.
