ROAD TRAFFIC (SPEED LIMITS) (COUNTY BOROUGH OF LIMERICK AND COUNTY OF LIMERICK) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1986.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 and 45 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961), and section 46 of the said Act as amended by section 25 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Limerick and County of Limerick) (Amendment) Regulations, 1986.

(2) The Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Limerick and County of Limerick) Regulations, 1984 ( S.I. No. 104 of 1984 ) and these Regulations shall be construed together and may be cited collectively as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Limerick and County of Limerick) Regulations, 1984 to 1986.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 24th day of February, 1986.

3. The Second Schedule to the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Limerick and County of Limerick) Regulations, 1984 is hereby amended as follows:

(i) by the substitution of reference number '19' after reference 18 for reference number '16'.

(ii) by the substitution for the matter at reference 26(h) of the following:

"The Mungret-Dooradoyle road for a distance of 500 metres from its junction with the Cork Road (National Road N20).".

(iii) by the addition of the following reference after reference 31:

"32. The following roads at Oola:

(a) The Limerick-Cahir road (National Road N24) between a point 550 metres north-west of its junction with the Cullen Road and a point 403 metres south-east of the said junction.

(b) The Ballybeg Road for a distance of 295 metres from its junction with the Limerick-Cahir road (National Road N24).

(c) The Glebe Road for a distance of 550 metres from its junction with the Limerick-Cahir road (National Road N24).".

4. The Third Schedule to the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Limerick and County of Limerick) Regulations, 1984 is hereby amended by the substitution of the following reference for reference 20:

"20. The following road at Oola:—

The Limerick-Cahir road (National Road N24) between a point 550 metres north-west of its junction with the Cullen Road and a point 1130 metres north-west of the said junction and between a point 403 metres south-east of its junction with the Cullen Road and a point 655 metres south-east of the said junction.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Limerick and County of Limerick) Regulations, 1984 to alter the speed limits applicable to certain roads in Oola and to extend the 30 mph speed limit on the Mungret-Dooradoyle road, Limerick.
