S.I. No. 325/1983 - European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations, 1983.

I, AUSTIN DEASY, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive No. 83/266/EEC of 16 May, 1983(1) and Commission Directive No. 83/466/EEC of 28 July, 1983(2) hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations, 1983.

(2) The collective citation "the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) Regulations, 1974 to 1983" shall include these Regulations.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 15th day of November, 1983.

3. (1) Regulation 2 of the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) Regulations, 1974 ( S.I. No. 302 of 1974 ), as amended by the Regulations specified in paragraph (2) of this Regulation, shall be construed and have effect as if the reference in the definition of "the Council Directive" to the Ninth Commission Directive No. 74/421/EEC of 23 July, 1974,(3), included a reference to the Forty-Second Commission Directive No. 83/266/EEC of 16 May, 1983(1) and to the Forty-Third Commission Directive No. 83/466/EEC of 28 July, 1983(2).

(2) The Regulations referred to in paragraph (1) of this Regulation are Regulation 3 of the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) Regulations, 1979 ( S.I. No. 6 of 1979 ), Regulation 2 of the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) Regulations, 1980 ( S.I. No. 250 of 1980 ), Regulation 2 of the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) Regulations, 1981 ( S.I. No. 262 of 1981 ), Regulation 2 of the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1981 (S.I. No. 372 of 1981), Regulation 3 of the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) Regulations, 1982 ( S.I. No. 260 of 1982 ), Regulation 3 of the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 29 of 1983 ), and Regulation 4 of the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 158 of 1983 ).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) Regulations, 1974 to 1983 so as to bring into force amendments made to Council Directive 70/524/EEC through Commission Directives 83/266/EEC and 83/466/EEC.
