S.I. No. 260/1982 - European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) Regulations, 1982

I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Agriculture in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive No. 81/632/EEC of 16 July, 19811 and Commission Directive No. 82/91/EEC of 15 January, 1982,2 hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) Regulations, 1982.

(2) The European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) Regulations, 1974 to 1981, and these Regulations may be cited together as the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) Regulations 1974 to 1982.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 16th day of August 1982.

3. (1) Regulation 2 of the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) Regulations, 1974 ( S.I. No. 302 of 1974 ), as amended by the Regulations specified in paragraph (2) of this Regulation, shall be construed and have effect as if the reference in the definition of "the Council Directive" to the Ninth Commission Directive No. 74/421/EEC of 23rd July, 19743 included a reference to the Thirty-Eight Commission Directive No. 81/632/EEC of 16 July, 1981 and to the Thirty-Ninth Commission Directive No. 82/91/EEC of 15 January, 1982.

(2) The Regulations referred to in paragraph (1) of this Regulation are Regulation 3 of the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) Regulations, 1979 ( S.I. No. 6 of 1979 ), Regulation 2 of the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) Regulations, 1980 ( S.I. No. 250 of 1980 ), Regulation 2 of the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives)

(Amendment) Regulations, 1981 ( S.I. No. 262 of 1981 ), and Regulation 2 of the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1981 ( S.I. No. 372 of 1982 ).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Feeding Stuffs) (Additives) Regulations, 1974 to 1981 so as to bring into force amendments made to Council Directive 70/524/EEC through Commission Directives 81/632/EEC and 82/91/EEC.
